The Center for Social Services of the Chuguiv City Council is a municipal institution that conducts social work with families, children and youth who belong to vulnerable groups of the population and/or are in difficult life circumstances, and provides them with social services.

The main tasks of the Center

  • conducting social and preventive work aimed at preventing individuals and families with children from falling into difficult life circumstances;
  • providing individuals and families with children with a range of social services in accordance with their needs in order to overcome difficult life circumstances and minimize the negative consequences of such circumstances.

In accordance with the defined tasks, the Center carries out activities regarding:

  • preventing individuals and families from falling into difficult life circumstances, introducing the latest social technologies aimed at preventing, minimizing, or overcoming difficult life circumstances;
  • identifying recipients of social services and keeping records of them;
  • social and psychological adaptation of orphans and children deprived of parental care, individuals from among them in order to prepare for independent life, organization of mentoring;
  • providing victims of domestic violence and victims of gender-based violence with comprehensive information about their rights and the possibility of receiving assistance;
  • conducting an assessment of the needs of individuals/families belonging to vulnerable groups of the population and/or in difficult life circumstances, in social services, determining methods of social work, providing psychological support;
  • provision of social services in accordance with state social service standards, in particular:

– informing;

– social support for families (individuals) who are in difficult life circumstances;

– counseling;

– social prevention;

– social integration and reintegration;

– social adaptation;

– social support for families raising orphans and children deprived of parental care;

– crisis and emergency intervention;

– representation of interests;

– social adaptation of war veterans and their family members;

– mediation;

– mediation;

– support during inclusive education;

– comprehensive social services to build resilience.

  • ensuring social patronage of persons who have served a sentence in the form of restriction or imprisonment for a certain period, as well as those released from further serving the specified types of punishments on the grounds provided for by law;
  • creation, taking into account the needs of the community, of inpatient, day and specialized services (departments), as well as a mobile emergency response team, whose activities are aimed at conducting social work with families, children and youth and providing them with social services;
  • draws up a rehabilitation plan for a person who has been a victim of human trafficking;
  • monitors and evaluates the quality of social services provided by it;
  • creates conditions for training and advanced training of specialists who provide social services;
  • interaction with other entities of the social services system that, within the limits of their competence, provide assistance to vulnerable groups of the population and individuals/families who are in difficult life circumstances, and/or ensure their protection;
  • informing community residents and each recipient of social services in a form accessible to persons with any type of health impairment about the list of social services provided, the scope and content of such services, the conditions and procedure for receiving them;
  • conducting information and awareness-raising work among community residents about the importance of family upbringing for children, the need to develop child patronage and family forms of upbringing;
  • participation in activities to search for candidates for foster carers, guardians, custodians, adoptive parents, foster parents;
  • participation in determining the needs of the community population in social services, as well as in the development and implementation of social service provision programs;
  • preparation of statistical and informational and analytical materials regarding the social services provided and social work carried out by the Center.
